Protection cover demand to rise in 2025

Demand for health insurance, income protection and life insurance will increase in 2025, according to friendly society The Exeter, which surveyed 250 UK financial advisers about discussing protection cover with clients.

For income protection, 51% of advisers expect demand to grow, with 31% anticipating no change and 18% predicting a decline. Similar trends were evident for life insurance, with 44% of advisers expecting to see an increase, 37% predicting stability and 19% anticipating a decrease. For private health insurance, 40% of advisers expect rising demand, 32% predict no change and 28% expect a decline.
